Several hundred high school prospects have camped or taken unofficial visits to the Colorado campus in the last few weeks.

One of those athletes is Utah's Sam Bennion, the standout defensive end picked up his first BCS offer from the Buffs.

BuffPlayBook.com caught up with Bennion to get his thoughts on the Colorado Football Program and his recruiting process.

"It was awesome at Colorado," Bennion said. "The Colorado Coaches really seem to know what they are doing, they did a great job turning the San Jose State Football program around."

Bennion had heard good things about the Boulder campus, but has to admit it was much better than he expected.

"It was most definitely better than I expected it to be," Bennion said. "Colorado is a great school and I'm very pleased to have an offer from them."

The 6-foot-6, 245-pound defensive end currently has offers from Colorado and Weber State.

According to Bennion he's not sure when he will make a decision, but appears the Buffs are in good shape with the Utah athlete.

"I'm really not sure when I will make a decision," Bennion noted. "I want to wait and weigh all my options before making a final choice. Colorado is definitely on the top of my list of schools I would like to attend."

Bennion finished his junior season with 10 sacks, 52 tackles (34 unassisted, 18 assists) and two pass deflections.

He earned All-Valley, All-Region and Honorable mention All-State honors for his 2012 season.
