Hard work is paying off for one Utah defender.
After going to several camps, Christian Shaver got the news Tuesday that he had been hoping for.
"I just talked to the Colorado coaches a little while ago, I got an offer from them," Shaver told BuffPlayBook.com. "I went to camp there and was a little disappointed I didn't get the offer there, but I'm extremely excited about getting it now."
Shaver now has three official offers, one from Colorado, one from Utah and Hawaii.
"Colorado is definitely in my top two with Utah, either one or two, I'm not sure right now," Shaver said. "I didn't grow up being a Utah fan, I moved from Arizona last summer."
Shaver fell in love with the Colorado campus earlier in the month when he took an unofficial visit.
"I love how great the campus looks," Shaver said. "I love how all the buildings are uniformed, the same type of brick, it's incredible looking. I love the diversity at Colorado."
Shaver talked to Coach Mike MacIntyre about his offer.
"They told me they loved how I rushed from the outside," Shaver said. "Coach MacIntyre told me that they are excited about me and want me to be a Buff."
Shaver said he plans on waiting a while before making a decision.
"Not sure when," Shaver said. "It may be after my senior season, It really depends on several things. I like Colorado a lot, if they end up coming down to just one defensive end spot, I might go ahead and pull the trigger, I'm not sure right now."
Shaver a 6-foot-3, 220-pound athlete is looking forward to his senior season.
"Getting these offers are great," Shaver said. "Now I can focus on my senior season. My hard work is starting to pay off."
