Richardson excited about his junior season

Junior wide receiver Paul Richardson talks about summer workouts, how he feels about the upcoming season and about the changes since the arrival of Coach Mike MacIntyre and his new coaching staff.

One of the best offensive players returning for his junior season for Buffs has to be senior wideout Paul Richardson.

Richardson has been chosen to represent Colorado next week at the Pac 12 Media Day on Friday July 26, and it's something that he is looking forward to.

"It's always great to get the opportunity to represent the University of Colorado," Richardson told "I'm very excited about the upcoming season, I wished it started tomorrow."

A finish with just 1 win in 2012 might cause most teams and players to have a lack of confidence.

This is where Coach Mike MacIntyre and his new coaching staff have come in and are working hard on instilling that confidence back into the Buff squad.

"There is definitely a different attitude and energy around the new coaches," Richardson said. "They are more hands on, they are player type coaches."

Richardson can see several changes the new coaching staff has brought with them to Boulder.

"We are definitely working hard in the offseason with our new strength coach," Richardson said. "I definitely feel that I'm bigger, stronger and faster."

The junior captain of the Buffs also realizes it's up to him and the class of seniors to provide leadership and guidance, especially to the younger guys coming aboard this team in the next few weeks.

"Everyone has been buying in on what we are doing," Richardson said "Everyone has embraced our voluntary workouts that we as players lead. There is definitely a new positive energy surrounding this team. We are excited about the upcoming season, I feel that we are going to be a lot better than everyone thinks we will be."

CU Football Players will report to Fall Camp on August 5th.
