Things are starting to slow down for one talented California defensive end.
Scout.com 3 star defensive end Matt Dickerson has over 17 offers, he has visited several schools already and has plans on taking more visits later this summer.
BuffPlayBook.com recently caught up with Dickerson to get his thoughts on his recruiting process.
"Things are going well," Dickerson said. "Things are dying down a little, which is a good thing. It's a fun process, I'm getting to know a lot of different coaches and seeing a lot of great places."
Dickerson got the chance to visit Colorado earlier this spring for the Buff's Junior Day.
"I loved it there," Dickerson said. "I got the entire tour of the campus, I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches, sitting in meetings and getting an up close look on how they teach and coach."
Dickerson has several goals, with one being to get the opportunity to play in the NFL. He is quick to point out that Colorado's Defensive Line Coach Jim Jeffcoat knows what it takes to get to the next level.
"It would be a big bonus to play for a guy like him." Dickerson said. "He played in the NFL for 15 years, he's a great teacher of the game, he is the type of coach that could help me achieve my long-term goals."
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound athlete hopes to finish up some visits before the summer comes to an end. He made it clear that he won't make a final decision before completing his visits.
"I hope to finish up my visits this summer," Dickerson said. "I plan on going to USC and UCLA soon, then hopefully I will get to visit Notre Dame and Arkansas before fall football practice starts. Two schools I'm not sure if I will visit or not is Oregon and Nebraska."
Does Dickerson have interest in Colorado?
"I most definitely do," Dickerson said. "They have a great campus, they have a great reputation in academics, they are definitely a school I'm looking hard at."
