Saturday commenced the first day of practice in full pads, while also serving as media day for all of University of Colorado athletics. Buffplaybook.com sat down with Buff's wide out and junior captain, Paul Richardson to see what he had to say about how the team has progressed, in addition to his own personal gains.

Buffplaybook.com Question: What would you say the biggest difference has been so far in the way former coach Jon Embree ran camp last year and how Coach Mike MacIntyre has so far in 2013?

Paul Richardson Answer: These coaches have been harping on us about detail and being more disciplined, and that has definitely been the biggest difference. As soon as we mess something up, they stop the play immediately and correct it so we do not create bad habits.

BPB:Which wide receiver has stood out to you so far, though only five days into camp? And has anyone at your position group shown a noticeable improvement since last season?

Richardson: I think Nelson (Spruce) and Tyler (McCulloch) have stepped up a lot, I am really proud of those guys and the progress they have made. I've told them before our first practice that I'm really going to need them to step up and lead that group; there are 13 of us so I am going to need their help a lot.

BPB: Regarding the incoming freshman, who would you say has stood out the most?

Richardson: As far as newcomers, I am happy with the strides Devin Ross has made, he's a young guy and he will be able to help us a lot this year.

BPB:As far as your own personal gains, would you say that you're bigger, faster, and stronger than when you headed into camp in 2012?

Richardson:Oh yeah, definitely. I am a lot stronger than I was, a lot faster than I was, and have a bigger chip on my shoulder, so I cannot wait to play.

BPB: What are your personal goals for the 2013 season?

Richardson: My personal goal, I am all about team success and help lead my team to a bowl game, you know we haven't been to one in a while and I think I can help get us there, whether it's being a decoy or making plays. Whatever I can do to help us get there, I am going to do.

BPB: Would you say that reaching a bowl game is the team's goal as well?

Richardson: Oh, yeah absolutely. We all truly believe that we have the potential of reaching a bowl game.
