Colorado journeyed to California last weekend to play UCLA, the Buffs coaching staff has made that state a priority in CU's recruiting.

One 2015 California defensive back Jihree Stewart received his second offer this past Friday, this time from Colorado.

BuffPlayBook.com visited with Stewart Wednesday night to get his reactions to his newest offer.

"I got the offer last Friday," Stewart said. "I was really excited to get that offer."

When asked what he knew about Colorado, the talented defender was quick with a response.

"I know they are the Buffaloes," Stewart said. "I know they have Raphie, a live Buffalo as their mascot, that's pretty cool."

Stewart, a 6-foot-0, 180-pound defensive corner, currently has offers from Colorado and Vanderbilt.

"I have always wanted to play in the PAC 12," Stewart said. "It's a great conference, getting this offer this early makes that dream a possibility."

Stewart currently has 2 interceptions this season and 27 tackles, he has been starting for his Centennial High School team since he was a sophomore.

"I have been getting a lot of mail from Colorado," Stewart said. "I wasn't sure if they were going to offer me or not, but I'm very happy that they did."
