To be the best you have to recruit the best athletes.
Colorado Coach Head Football Coach Mike MacIntyre realizes this and isn't shy about going up against the likes of Texas A&M, Texas, Notre Dame, Florida and Florida State for prospects he is interested in.
One 2015 prospect, a four star rated tight end Jordan Davis of Clear Lake HS , has already committed to Texas A&M.
That apparently hasn't stopped the Colorado coaching staff from putting on the full court press for his services.
BuffPlayBook.com recently caught up with Davis to get his take on his recruiting process.
"It's going good right now, actually it's pretty hectic," Davis said. "I'm getting a lot of attention from a lot of different schools. They seem more determined now to recruit me since I made my commitment to Texas A&M.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end is ranked by Scout.com as the No. 2 tight end in the country.
Is Colorado still recruiting Davis?
"Colorado is recruiting me really hard," Davis said. "They are one of my top schools. I basically recruiting me harder than anyone. I get something in the mail from them everyday."
Is Davis ruling out taking visits to other schools?
"I would love to visit to Colorado if it's possible," Davis said. "I might take one of my official visits there. I will probably take all of my official visits."
According to Davis getting a great education is very important to him.
"I want a great education," Davis said. "A school that has my major, early playing time would be great. I would even like to start as a true freshman. Also I want to study how they use the tight end position in their offense."
Davis is honest about having an early favorite.
"No doubt, Texas A&M," Davis said. "They are a great program and they are close to home, they are my early favorite."
Davis committed to the Aggies back in June.
