Rogers names 'final five,' schedules official visits

Greg Rogers has expressed strong interest in Colorado for months now, and on Saturday evening, the blue-chip defensive tackle prospect made it clear he will take an official visit to Boulder.

Greg Rogers will depart for his visit to Colorado on October 1, the same weekend the Buffaloes host Oregon State. It is expected to be a big recruiting weekend for Colorado. Commits Tyler Lytle and Jon Van Diest, and outside linebacker Faavae Faavae, are among the other recruits that have RSVP'd to be in Boulder for the Buffs' first conference home game.

Rogers is also set to take an official visit to Oklahoma on September 17, Arizona State on Oct. 8, UCLA on Nov. 19 and USC on Nov. 26. The four-star prospect from Las Vegas (Nev.) Arbor View then plans to wait to make his college announcement on December 10. That will give him a chance to host some in-home visits before deciding.

What a journey! I am down to a final five,” Rogers wrote on Twitter. “I want to go ahead and get this over with (narrowing down his list) before going into my final season of high school football with my team. We have a lot of unfinished business we need to take care of and I want my focus to be with my team.”

Rogers is currently ranked by Scout as the nation's fifth best defensive tackle prospect, and the 74th best overall recruit from the Class of 2017. Here is a recent BuffStampede Film Room feature on Rogers, breaking down his abilities between the lines:
