Commitment Tracker: Opening weekend for most

Most of Colorado's commitments from the Class of 2017 will be beginning their final prep season this weekend, while Dante Sparaco already kicked off his senior campaign.

Sparaco saw action at both defensive end and tight end as IMG Academy beat Carol City, 17-7, in the preseason classic. They will face off against powerhouse Grayson, a Georgia high school, this Saturday at 4 pm (MT) with television coverage on ESPN2.

After winning a district title in 2015, Sherman and the Allen Eagles will open the season with a high profile match-up against Hoover High, from Alabama, on Friday night.

Shenault and Desoto open the season with a home game against Dallas Jesuit tomorrow.

Wells and South Sumter open on the road Friday night at Leesburg.

Van Diest and Cherry Creek will scrimmage Arvada West on Friday afternoon at the Stutler Bowl before officially kicking off the 2016 campaign at Regis the evening of Sept. 2. That will keep Van Diest from being able to attend the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

Landman and Monte Vista begin at home against Deer Valley tomorrow.

Osling will go both ways for Antelope Valley this season so he can start gaining experience at cornerback. It will be his play at quarterback that will largely dictate how much success they will have this season, however. The Antelopes open at home against Golden Valley on Friday evening.

Hamilton and ASA College have a scrimmage against The College of New Jersey tonight and they open with a game in Rhode Island at Navy Prep on Sept. 3.

After scrimmaging Love Joy last week, Polley and Miller will begin the season with their Denton teammates on Friday night at Lake Dallas.

Bell and Murrieta Valley will play at Santiago on Friday in their first game.

Olver will begin his second season of organized football when Granite Bay opens at Central Catholic on Friday night.

Paige will get his first chance to show off his increased strength when ThunderRidge plays Tift County, a Georgia high school, next Thursday. The game will be played out in Orlando.

Fontenot and the George Ranch Longhorns open on Saturday afternoon at Weslaco. You can watch clips of Fontenot from their preseason scrimmages against Clear Lake and Hightower:

Lewis and the Granite Bay Grizzlies also begin the 2016 campaign on Friday with a game at Carmichael Jesuit, Beau Bisharat's old high school.

After showing well in a scrimmage against Mission Viejo last week, Lytle will begin his senior campaign with Servite on Friday night in a match-up against Fountain Valley. Lytle was recently selected to play in the Blue/Grey All-American game. Below is a link to his highlights from the Mission Viejo scrimmage:

Newman and the Mike Moschetti-led La Mirada Matadores will try to defend their state championship beginning with a game against Orange Lutheran on Friday.
