Name: Dante Sparaco

Position: Defensive End

Height/Weight: 6-foot-5, 255 Pounds

Committed to: Colorado Buffaloes

Location/School: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

Scouting Report:

Sparaco is a disciplined defender that does a nice job of setting the edge and flashing relentlessness until the play is whistled dead. Sparaco is more athletic than given credit for, and contains the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage by breaking down and changing direction to the football.

Sparaco also impresses with the ability to disengage and make a play on the ball. He keeps his eyes on the ball carrier while tangled up in the trenches, but also does a good job of holding his own by stacking and shedding the opponent. Sparaco flashes that good hand placement while getting underneath with leverage.

This Colorado native can continue to work on his explosiveness, but his undeniable effort and strength at the point of attack is what really sticks out. Sparaco, who also checks in with intriguing size, kicked off the recruiting process across the line of scrimmage at tight end, but has certainly found his groove with the Ascenders.

This is a disciplined defensive lineman that holds his ground when provided with that one-on-one battle behind the line. Sparaco has been recording a boatload of tackles for loss, but you have to love his relentlessness and strong pursuit to the football. Great character as well.
