State's no.6 Player Receives CU Call

Kory Sperry once was thinking about making a decision before the season started. But as of now his list is not dwindling, it is expanding. CU remains in heavy pursuit of the small school athlete as evidenced by the fact that they called Sperry on the first day they were allowed to in the September contact period.

"They called me last night, but I wasn't here so they left a message," said Sperry.

Kory started the season with a bit of a disapointing loss as Pueblo County fell to Palisade 49-7. Sperry still performed well though with 145 yards passing and 70 yards rushing. He threw a 43 yard touchdown pass.

He does play quarterback at his school but is being recruited by most schools as a tight end or defensive end.

His favorite schools right now include CU, CSU, Wyoming, Nebraska, San Diego State, Kansas State, and Bowling Green.

He did not get a chance to witness the Mile High Showdown.

"I had a game at the same time as that game and I tried to have my friend record it but his recorder was busted. So, it is too bad but I missed it."

Kory has not lined up any official visits yet and CU is the only school to call him thus far. He has current offers from the Buffs and Wyoming. But a decision is not close at all anymore.

"I will probably wait until the end of the season to decide."
