Colorado Has an "In" with California Corner

Colorado went into Concord, California last year and almost came away with top running back Maurice Drew. This year they are back at De La Salle high school to try their hand at one of the top defensive backs in the nation, Willie Glasper. There is one distinct advantage that Colorado has over all of the other schools recruiting him.

"My girlfriend goes to Colorado," said the nation's no.6 ranked cornerback. "She went there to play volleyball last year but I don't think she is doing that anymore. She is coming here to visit pretty soon and I will probably also be out there to visit her soon. She really likes it out there."

Despite this "in" CU has with Glasper the Colorado staff does not seem to be exploiting it.

"They have shown a little bit of interest, but not as much as the other schools recruiting me."

Willie says that he would undoubtedly be more interested in CU if they showed more love for him. Right now the schools that are showing him a lot of love, and offers to boot are Oregon, Arizona State, Washington, Nebraska, Utah, Oregon State, Cal, and Arizona. He has a current top five that consists of the Seminoles, Trojans, Ducks, Sun Devils, and Huskies.

Schools that have called him since Monday include Florida State, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona State, Washington, Cal, Colorado State, and Nebraska.

As a junior, Glasper totaled 48 tackles and eight interceptions as the Spartans finished another season undefeated, ranked No. 1 in the nation and their winning streak is now at 138 in a row. They kickoff the season next week against Mitty High from San Jose. But a few weeks down the line is when things really heat up. That is when De La Salle will take on Evangel Christian from Shreveport, Louisiana in one of the most highly anticipated high school games ever.

All schools involved like Glasper as a corner and he has not scheduled any visits yet. He carries a 2.3 GPA and has scored a 25 on his ACT. He would like to major in Buisness.
