Colorado After Drummer the Hardest

The last couple of years in recruiting Colorado has done a tremendous job at mixing in speed backs with power backs. Now that the Buffs already have their fullback in the fold in Hawaii's Jordan Dizon they can go out and grab a top tailback. If they are wanting that tailback to have blazing speed than Ronnie Drummer is their man.

Drummer exploded onto the scene after the Florida State camp in which one stop watch there recorded him with a 4.21 40 time. By far the fastest of the day. Ronnie wanted to make an appearance in Tallahassee because he grew up there and says he wouldn't mind returning to the state of Florida for college.

And since Colorado is one of his favorite schools, he was elated when I mentioned to him that the Buffs and the Seminoles will be palying in a couple of weeks.

His top five right now are Colorado, Cal, USC, UCLA, and Kansas State. The Buffs are the lone offer and the CU staff extended that offer over the summer. CU was also one of the first schools to call Ronnie on Monday night.

"Colorado, Cal, and Utah called me on Monday. I didn't get to speak with any of them and then Colorado and Utah called me back tonight, so did Kansas State."

Coach Ted Gilmore is recruiting Ronnie for the Buffs and Ronnie is listening to what he has to say.

"From what I have read and heard it is a nice city out there. I know they just sent a running back to the NFL. Other than those two things I don't know too much about them but I am interested to find out. Oh, Coach Gilmore also tells me they have a great Engineering school and I want my major to have something to do with Engineering."

All schools involved like Ronnie as a running back, except Utah. They like him as an athlete. And an athlete he is. He will be his team's kickoff returner this year and will also pull some duty on defense as a back-up corner. He prefers to play running back.

Ronnie has not scheduled any visits yet. He carries a 3.4 core GPA and scored an 800 on his first SAT attempt but will take it again. North Salinas gets their season started next Friday versus San Lorenzo Valley.
