Riverside RB Has Buffs in Top Five

Since becoming one of the more dominant rushing teams in college football, Colorado has peaked the interest of many a high school tailback. <a href="http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=148&p=8&c=1&nid=811979">Josh Barnett</a> out of California is one of them this year. He really likes the running back tradition at CU. Barnett is another speed back on Colorado's list. He ran a blistering 4.38 at a Nike Camp over the summer.

That speed and his skills are attracting a lot of attention. As a junior he earned all-League, all-county and all-CIF 1st team honors, as well as honorable mention all-state. For his accomplishments he has received offers from Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado State.

"My top five are Oregon, Colorado, Washington, Cal, and Arizona. I would have to say my favorite is Oregon because I have always liked them."

What puts CU in his top five?

"I like the running backs that come out of there. I really liked watching Chris Brown play. Colorado has alwyas been one of the teams I have watched when they were on."

Josh will play cornerback and safety this year for his team but says he prefers running back. That is what all of the schools involved are recruiting him for.

Since Monday night he has received calls from Oregon, Washington, Utah, Utah State, Nevada, Boise State, and Idaho State.

He has not taken his tests yet and says that he will be signing up for them soon. Josh carries a 2.5 GPA. His team begins their season tomorrow night when they face off against Rancho Verde.
