Intriguing In-State Athlete Goes Buff

The “Buff Signal” was seen across the Flatirons again on Thursday...

Five days after receiving a scholarship offer from Colorado during the Buffaloes' Recruit Day event, Max Borghi made a return trip to Boulder to chat with head coach Mike MacIntyre. It was during that meeting that Borghi became the Buffs' fourth commitment from the Class of 2018.

“I grew up a Buffs fan. My mother actually went there for a little bit to college. I’ve been a fan for a while. It’s sweet down there,” he previously told BuffStampede.com.

Already a three-star prospect on Scout, Borghi is one of the most intriguing prospects in the Centennial State this cycle. He is generously listed at 5-foot-10, but what Borghi lacks in height, he makes up for in explosiveness. He is a versatile offensive threat that can make plays as a pass catcher or ball carrier out of the backfield.

Already a three-year letterman at Pomona, Borghi averaged 154.2 all-purpose yards per game as a sophomore in 2015 and he was averaging more than 150 yards again as a junior until a torn ACL sidelined him late during the campaign.

Borghi will return to the field as a senior looking to build on his career numbers with the Panthers of 4,372 all-purpose yards and 45 touchdowns.
