Henry told BuffStampede.com back in mid-February that he was in contact with Darian Hagan on a daily basis. That attention from Colorado's running backs coach helped the Buffaloes make Henry's top 12, which he announced on social media Sunday.
Oklahoma State, Illinois, Oregon State, Washington, Colorado, Baylor, Iowa State, Houston, Texas A&M, Clemson, Texas and Utah have all caught Henry's eye early in the recruiting process. Baylor, Colorado and Iowa State were his top three a month-and-a-half ago.
“I've heard it is really nice out there and I have heard their facilities are all that,” Henry said of Colorado. “Coach Darian said they really like me and think I could really help their program.”
Ranked by Scout as one of the top 10 performers at the recent Under Armour regional camp in Houston, Henry scored a total of 40 touchdowns in 2015 and 2016. He rushed for 1,415 yards as a sophomore and he followed it up by rushing for 1,452 yards as a junior in 2016.
"I might be small but I am not scared to get physical,” said the Houston area ball-carrier, who recorded a 10.7-second time in the 100-meter dash during track last spring. “A lot of small running backs look to get to the outside immediately but I am fine with hitting you in the mouth. I am fine with running toward you. I am not going to run away from you.”
