DeSoto Offensive Lineman Josh Jynes Becomes Colorado's Sixth Pledge for 2018

Three days after taking his second unofficial visit to Colorado, Josh Jynes was ready to pull the trigger...

Josh Jynes will re-join KD Nixon, his cousin, and Laviska Shenault Jr. in 2018. A 6-foot-3, 310-pound offensive lineman from DeSoto (Texas) High, Jynes verbally committed to the Buffaloes on Tuesday. Nixon and Shenault both signed with Colorado in February.

"On my visit to Colorado last weekend, it just clicked that I wanted to go there," Jynes told "Everything about Colorado sold me on it, especially the coaches. Coach 'Mac,' Coach 'Chev,' and Coach Adams, they all love their players and they have great relationships with everybody. I felt really connected to them when I went up there.

"When I committed, they were excited and shocked because they weren't expecting it. I wouldn't say having my decision made is stress relieving, but it is definitely exciting."

The starting center on DeSoto's 2016 6A-D2 state championship team, Jynes did not give up any sacks as a junior. He projects as an interior offensive lineman for the next level

"Colorado sees me as a center or a guard," he confirmed. "They said they like my intelligence and that I am athletic; I have great athleticism for my size."

Arkansas Pine Bluff, Jackson State, Rice and UTSA also offered Jynes, and he was drawing interest from Baylor, Houston and Oklahoma State, among others.
