It has been a crazy past week for Shane Illingworth who picked up his first two scholarship offers and transferred high schools.
The big 6-6 signal caller spent his freshman year at Corona (Calif.) Centennial but made the move to Corona earlier this week. He did participate in Centennials annual college showcase last Thursday and picked up scholarship offers from Arizona State and Colorado.
Looking at Illingworth, the upside with him is obvious. He has a college body right now, a big time arm and shows good mobility as well. We had a chance to see him several times in the winter during the 7v7 circuit and he always impressed with not just his arm strength but accuracy, timing and touch.
With three years to develop, there is no doubt he will be one of the nation's most coveted quarterbacks by the time he is a senior. The move to Corona will allow him to see this field this coming fall and with a talented group of receivers, Illingworth should put up big numbers this season.
The quarterback has already taken visits to Cal, Fresno State, San Jose State, UCLA and USC. He said he is hoping to visit Arizona, ASU and Colorado this summer and a visit to Oklahoma at some point could happen as well.
