Centennial Star Looking to Join the Big Boys

Overland High School Outside linebacker Tyler Joyce is the star of the Blazer team. Joyce has been a three year starter going into this fall. Summer visits from schools such as Notre Dame, CU, CSU, Nebraska, and Michigan had Tyler primed for a blockbuster senior campaign.

After an injury slowed his game for the beginning of the season, Tyler has impressed. Although he has no offers at this point, Tyler likes Colorado, Nebraska, and Colorado State in no particular order. Tyler also plans to visit Oregon and Montana later this fall.

Coach Wristen is recruiting Tyler from Colorado and says,"Coach Wristen is a cool guy and has been talking to me about CU." What makes Tyler's decision even more interesting is his mother graduated from Nebraska and his Dad has gone both to Colorado and Colorado State! "I really like all those schools and they all have good programs." Tyler is open to anywhere right now and is just trying to focus on his senior season.

Joyce has been enjoying the recruiting process but it is now starting to get stressful with school and his senior year. Coach Tony Manfredi has been helping Tyler throughout the whole process.

A GPA of 3.0 and an ACT of 24 can only help Tyler as he is already qualified to play. Tyler wants to either major in Physical Therapy or Sports Medicine while at college.

Colorado 5A #8 Overland High School had started 4-0, but lost to 5A #1 Mullen in a dog fight which was much closer than the 37-14 score represented.
