Michael Tate is up to six offers now as he just received ones from Kansas and Tennessee. He is the cornerstone of the Booker T. Washington defense this year. He has 119 tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles, and one interception for his 9-0 squad. Michael is very good friends with a current Buff player and is liking what he hears from the CU staff. He says he will probably visit Boulder and that CU has verbally offered."> Michael Tate is up to six offers now as he just received ones from Kansas and Tennessee. Chadd Evans has been putting in good word for Colorado with his former teammate.

"We are real good friends. He comes through the school every few weeks and we get a chance to talk. He really likes it up there."

And Michael really likes the idea of taking a visit to see what Chadd has been raving about.

"Colorado is not far from home and I have spoken a lot with Coach Wilson. He is a real cool guy and I am very comfortable with him."

Michael says he would have no problem with leaving the state for school and his family wouldn't mind it either. He admits that he is leaning towards playing in the SEC or the Big 12.

The schools to offer thus far include Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Tulsa, to go along with the Vols and Jayhawks. Colorado told him he had an offer at the start of the season but has yet to follow through with the paperwork that makes it official like the other schools have. Chances are that they will and they especially will if Michael visits Boulder.

Tate describes himself as a speed rusher from the outside and says that all schools like him at end.

Booker T. already won their district last week and now they are set to take on Coweta. Tate carries a 2.7 core GPA and scored a 21 on his latest ACT attempt. He got a 19 on his first try. He already took it again in hopes of beating his 21 score but hasn't received the results yet.

We'll catch up with Michael in a few weeks to see if sets a visit to Boulder. He only has one visit scheduled at this time which will be to Oklahoma State on December 5th.
