"It was good," Spears said of his visit. "I was hosted by Brian White and Bernard Jackson and they just showed me around. I went and watched the team practice, went to the game, and met all the coaches. It was well worth it."

So has CU offered him a scholarship?

"The coaches told me that they are only taking maybe two more DB's, so they are going to evaluate everyone's senior film before they decided who they are going to take. They said they are real interested in me."

Spears does not have any offers yet. His favorite schools are CU, Kansas, Minnesota, Florida, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Iowa, and Florida State. He has a visit scheduled with SMU on January 9th and will also visit Kansas in December.

All schools like Chris as a safety or a corner and he prefers corner. On the year he had one fumble recovery for a touchdown, one interception, and two punt returns for touchdowns. He racked up 60 tackles on defense.

His team finished the year 9-2 and lost in the first round of the playoffs 21-10 over Abilene.

Spears carries a 3.0 GPA and scored a 960 on his SAT. He would like to major in Business or Criminal Justice.
