Juniors to Watch: Fruita Monument

Head Coach Bill Moore speaks highly of two players from Fruita Monument for next year. He thinks both Quarterback Riar Greer and linebacker Tyler Ryan are high-end prospects. Both will be at CU's junior day next week. Here is a look at what both prospects bring to the table.

Fruita Monument went 10-4 last year and they were the state runner-up in the 4A classification. This year they are making the switch to 5A and they have two great players that will make that switch a little easier.

Riar Greer is a 6-3, 220 pound quarterback prospect who runs the 40 in 4.8 seconds. His bench max is said to be 250 and his squat 450. He has a 33-inch vertical.

"He is very strong and athletic," says Coach Moore. "He is definitely a division one prospect. He can throw the ball 70 yards in the air."

Riar missed half of last season with a shoulder injury, but he was still able to earn honorable mention all-state honors.

Tyler Ryan is a 6-1, 225 pound linebacker prospect that runs the 40 in 4.8 seconds. He has a bench max of 330 and a squat of 500. He has a 24-inch vertical jump. Tyler is currently ranked number one in the state for wrestling in the 215 pound class.

"We fully expect him to win state."

Tyler was a first team all-league and honorable mention all-state selection as a junior.

"He is strong, quick, and very hard to block."

Coach Moore says that both players' GPA's are between 3.6 and 3.8.

Buff Country will be catching up with Riar and Tyler in the very near future for interviews.
