"I like Kansas State, Michigan State, Kansas, and CU," said DeWitty. "I'd have to say Kansas State is my favorite."

As for CU, Shaun says he does not know much about the program and that is why he will be attending Junior Day this Saturday.

DeWitty was also a very successful prep football player in St. Louis, Missouri. His coach says that as a sophomore he was the second leading rusher in the state in the 4A classification. His coach has some high praise for him.

Doherty Head Coach Mike Sirko says of Shaun, "In the 29 years I have been in coaching he is one of the best players I have ever been around. He is just a fantastic player."

DeWitty is also an accomplished track and baseball star. He finished second in the state in the long jump competition last year. He has a personal best in the event of 23-feet, three inches. Doherty's 4X100 team, in which he runs the second leg, also took state. He plays center field on the baseball team and says that people tell him he will get drafted, but he is not positive.

Although he is a star running back, Shaun does not prefer the offensive backfield.

"I would really prefer to play anywhere on defense. I am not sure what side of the ball I will be recruited for, but I would like to play defense."

DeWitty says he will most likely attend summer football camps at KSU and Michigan State. Plus, he plans on going to the San Diego State Nike Camp.

He lists his greatest strengths on the field as his balance and vision.

Shaun carries a 3.0 core GPA and will take his ACT in April. He is thinking of some sort of Business major or Communications.
