Honors And Injuries Top Buff News

As it has been all season, the University of Colorado has received Big 12 honors. But typical with the season, along with the awards came some not so great injury news. The Buffs have the week off as they prepare for their showdown with Nebraska.

Another week down and more CU players receive awards by the Big 12. Not surprizingly, Cortlan Johnson was named Big 12 co-offensive player of the week after his performance against Iowa State. Johnson became the first Buff ever to rush for and receive over 100 yards in the same game. Johnson finished with 272 total yards of offensive and two touchdowns. After his performance the past two weeks, being named Big 12 special teams player of the week is a huge boost of confidence for CU PK Jeremy Flores. Going into the game with Iowa State, Flores had missed 5 of his last 6 fieldgoal attempts. Those misses were soon forgotten. Flores connected on all four of his fieldgoal attempts; from 35, 35, 37 and 48 yards away. Colorado has had six players earn Big 12 homors in the past six weeks. Lets hope we can make that seven.
