"I was impressed with Colorado's facilities and the coaches were very cool," said Zimmerer.

He is being recruited to CU by Coach Wristen. Sam believes that he will play tight end in college and that is where schools are expressing interest in him.

His top two are Colorado State and Oregon, followed by CU, Arizona State, and BYU.

Zimmerer was walking around the CU campus with a cast boot on his left leg.

"I re-aggravated my MCL recently," he explained. "But I will be fine in time for the season."

This summer, Sam will take in both CU and CSU's team and elite camps. He will also soon be heading to the Oregon Junior Day and just attended the Rams' Junior Day.

Zimmerer describes himself as an aggressive and determined player on the field. He carries a 2.8 core GPA and is taking his ACT next week. Sam is undecided on a major.
