Colorado Finds Their Center

Lamont Arrington, a 6-11 center from Schoolcraft (MI) CC, is bound for Colorado. Arrington signed with Houston, but was granted a release when Cougar head coach Ray MCcAllum was replaced by Tom Penders. Arrington averaged 9.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this season.

He redshirted the 2002-03 season after playing as a freshman at NAIA St. Mary's. Arrington needs to add bulk and improve on the offensive end, but his size and defensive ability makes him intriguing. Arrington has grown four inches since high school. He played at Detroit (MI) Osborn.

He was a semi-finalist in the USCAA 2001-2002 Men's Division I Basketball Tournament Slam Dunk contest.

He had received interest from Purdue, South Carolina, Wright State, and Wyoming after playing well at the Jerry Mullen's Junior College Evaluation Camp in July.
