CU moved up 5 places in the AP poll to #9 and to #10 in the Coaches poll. The Buffs will find out where they rank in the BCS poll Monday night. Colorado came in ranked #15 in the BCS before the Nebraska game.
If CU beats Texas and wins the Big 12 crown, they would automatically head to the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, Arizona. This is because under the rules of the BCS, the winner of the Big 12 is assured a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. The Buffs would likely play Oregon, the winner of the Pac-10.
- Saturday's Big 12 championship Game in be played at Texas Stadium in Dallas. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 pm MT. Check the Buffs message board (located at thr top left of the (BuffsInsider home page) for tickets. Many OU and NU fans are ready to sell.
- Pesavento or Ochs?
This was an easy question to answer at the beginning of the season because Craig Ochs looked as good as a QB could. But Pesavento has done an incredible job filling in for the injured Ochs. Pesavento's numbers against NU weren't spetacular but he did what he needed to do and more importantly didn't turn the ball over. He finished 9 of 16 for 202 yards and scored on a 1-yard QB dive. Ochs did practice last week and was about 80% for the Nebraska game. Coaches will not decide who will get the start vs Texas until early this week.
- Injuries from the Nebraska game:
- C Wayne Lucier: Ankle (probable) - CB Donald Strickland: Leg Cramps (Probable) - TB Cortlan Johnson: Knee Sprain (Questionable) - QB Craig Ochs: Ankle sprain (Quest.-Probable) - QB Bobby Pesavento: Shoulder (Probable)
