Wilson was recruited by CU running backs coach Shawn Simms. He will play cornerback at Colorado.

He had offers from CU and Hawaii, and a verbal offer from Stanford. Wilson had reportedly planned to attend Hawaii, where he would have been asked to gray shirt and would not have been on scholarship until 2005.

The Buffs filled up their scholarship spots earmarked for the cornerback position before Wilson decided where he wanted to attend college. However, a scholarship opened up recently with the transfer of incumbent starter Sammy Joseph.

Wilson played both ways in high school — quarterback and defensive back. Serra, a small Catholic high school, to the state finals was 13-1 in Wilson's junior year, and went 9-4 last season. As a senior, Wilsoncompleted 55-of-97 passes for over 1,200 yards and 12 TDS. He made 34 tackles and one interception on defense. As a junior, Wilson had 69 tackles (46 solo), knocked down 15 passes and had three picks.
