Steve, what was your impression of the CU camp?
"I liked it a lot. I went last year as well and I liked it more this year."
Give an assessment of your camp performance.
"I think I did pretty well, considering. They put me at cornerback. I've never played cornerback before. I think I did well though. Last year I worked out with the running backs. There was a lot of technical things I needed to improve on because cornerback is not my normal position. For example, I need to drop my hips when I go into a backpedal. Things like that."
What'd you think of Coach Bray?
"He was great! He knows exactly what he's talking about. You could tell right off how much he knows about the game. He was great teacher. He was stern but he was patient, too. Everyone liked him a lot."
Did you have much interaction with Coach Barnett?
"He was there everyday. He was real relaxed just keeping an eye on everything. I talked to him briefly on Saturday. I said, ‘How are you doing?'. He joked back, "I'm still here!'"
Do you plan on attending any additional camps this Summer?
"Kansas State invited me to their camp and combine. I wasn't able to register in time. I'm pretty wide open right now."
How do you think Cherry Creek will do this season?
"Some of the guys at camp were joking with me saying ‘The Creek has run dry.' I think we're going to be very good this season. We have nine returning starters on defense. We run a 3-5-3 defensive scheme. I think we'll have a real good defense. "
What position are you going to play this Fall?
"I'm going to play running back. Last year I split time at running back and gained about 600 yards. This year I'll be the main starter."
I heard your teammate Taj Kaynor had a good camp.
"Yeah, he did really well. He had a sore ankle that injured playing basketball, but he still had a good camp."
