"The Big 12 conference is very tough," said Pacheco. "I really like Colorado because they play in it and they seem to have very good coaches. They have been in contact with me a lot."

He is being recruited to CU by Coach Cabral.

Richard just got back from the Nebraska camp where the NU coaches told him they could offer in time. "They told me that they like me at the center position and that they are close to offering but they need to see me play a couple games at center my senior year. Coach Callahan pulled me and Rodney Picou into his office and that is when they told me that."

Richard does not have any offers yet but expect him to get some in the future - he is a talented player. One of the reasons he may not have any offers is because he is kind of a tweener between a center and guard. "A lot of people tell me I am a little short for guard but a little tall for center."

His top five include the Buffs, Huskers, Arizona State, Fresno State, and Cal. NU and FSU are his co-leaders. His favorite will change quick when he gets offered. "The first school to offer me will become my favorite. I am thinking about jumping on it but will probably wait to see what happens after a couple of games into my senior year."

Pacheco has strong feelings about football. "I have a lot of passion when I am on the field. There is no losing with me. I love hurting people out there. I use my low center of gravity to my advantage."

He has already attended the Arizona State one-day camp and the UCLA Adidas Camp. He will now attend the San Diego State one-day event and another camp yet to be decided.

Richard carries a 2.9 core GPA and scored a 920 on his SAT.
