"After I leave the CU camp I will go home and the next morning I am heading to Kansas State for an unofficial visit," said Zimmerer. "If KSU offered I would commit right now. They are in the Big 12, have a great stadium and weight room, I would love to play there. My parents really like Kansas State and they also like Colorado State because it is close to home. If I had to pick a college right now it would be CU, but if KSU offers I will go there."

Besides CU and CSU, Sam has a verbal offer from Air Force. Those three, Oregon and Arizona State are his favorites.

Zimmerer will be attending the Buffs' camp with his teammate, Luke Geddie.

Sam carries a 2.8 core GPA and scored a 16 on his first ACT attempt. He will re-take it in October.

He has also attended the CSU camp this summer and the CU one will be his final stop. Most schools see Zimmerer as a tight end but Colorado is recruiting him as a defensive end. He prefers to play offense.
