The senior, who transferred to Colorado from Oregon State in 2001, figures to play a big role in the Colorado offense. Question: Which team are you most looking forward to playing and why?
Ron Monteilh: The team I'm looking most forward to playing is Colorado State. For me, that's the biggest game every year. I know we kind of have a big game against Nebraska too. But there's something about playing CSU — maybe because they're in-state, a local team, and I've been up (to Fort Collins) a couple times. I think there's more attention there lately.

Q: In your time at CU, who's been the most difficult defensive back to go up against in practice?
RM: Donald Strickland. His senior year, I remember, you had to do everything right to catch a pass against him.

Q: You went to Beverly Hills High School, did you go to school with any celebrities, or celebrities' kids?
RM: Some celebrities' kids. I went to school with some of the Jacksons' kids. A lot of famous people went there before I went there. Not many when I was there, but they may be famous one day.

Q: Staying with the Beverly Hills theme, what's your favorite movie?
RM: "Boomerang."

Q: Favorite actor and actress?
RM: Favorite actor, Denzel Washington, easy. Favorite actress, Jennifer Lopez, for obvious reasons.

Q: Who's the best basketball player on the CU football team?
RM: It was D.J. Hackett. Now I'd probably say Bobby Purify. (Monteilh said he hadn't yet played hoops with new CU transfer Lenny Miles, who started at point guard for U. New Mexico last season).

Q: What music do you listen to before a game?
RM: I usually don't listen to a lot of loud, rah-rah music. I usually try to stay calm before a game or else I'll get too hyped up and start messing up. Usually, I hit the weightroom for about 15 minutes before I go out. It gets the blood flowing.

Q: What's the best part about being a Buffalo for you?
RM: The tradition. I used to watch the Buffaloes growing up. I'm happy to be here, I'm proud to be here. The tradition here is big. I was at Oregon State and they didn't have any tradition.

Q: Who's the toughest individual opponent you've played against from another team since you've been here?
RM: Ricky Manning from UCLA. He could cover and he could tackle. He was hard to block and he was fast, he could do everything.

Q: Give me a player on your team now that's going to surprise people this year.
RM: I'd say Lorenzo Sims. I think he's going to have a big year at corner.
