Is Bakersfield Lineman Seriously Considering CU?

"Right now I am not quite sure what I am going to do," said Hickman. "I don't want to name any favorites because I do not want to count anyone out. I plan on making my decision fairly soon. Probably within the next week or two.

"I plan on deciding on the school and then only take that one official visit."

Coach Borbely called him last night. "Colorado, Washington, and Washington state called. The coach from Colorado just wanted to check on me to see how things were going and he told me that they like me at tackle and they could use some tackles. I hear good things about Colorado so they are one of the schools under consideration."

The other schools are said to be Arizona, Arizona State, Nebraska, Washington, Washington State, and UCLA. All of these schools have offered.

He took unofficial visits to UA, NU, and UCLA over the summer. So do the schools he hasn't visited yet have a legit shot? "Yeah, they still do. Like I said, I am not ruling anyone out right now and I have interest in all of them."

His parents say they will back whatever choice Jacob goes with.

Schools like him at different positions. While CU sees him at tackle, Nebraska and Washington like him at center and Arizona and UCLA see Hickman on the defensive line. "If I do play d-line, it will be as the weakside tackle or end since I will probably not be the biggest guy on the line. I really don't care what position I play at. I like all of the line positions."

Jacob grew up a Notre Dame fan but has never really considered the Irish and he hasn't heard much from South Bend.

Centennial faces Redwood in their first game September 10th.

Hickman is ranked as the no.59 player in the west.
