It wasn't a game or even a scrimmage, but the Buffs were happy to resume hitting each other after 15 days away.
Now that they got the feeling back, CU will take another three days off from practice for final exams.
The good news is the Buffs made it through without any injuries, but Coach Gary Barnett is worried about casualties off the field. Barnett is concerned that some of his upper-classmen may not be eligible to play against the Oregon Ducks in the Fiesta Bowl January 1st.
His concern is in regards to a new rule instituted by the Big 12 Conference that states seniors must pass a certain amount of classes beyond the NCAA minimum. If they do not, they are declared ineligible for the post season.
Barnett said he was worried about three or four of his players and should know more by the end of the week.
CU is hoping they get more good news from the NCAA this week in regards to the medical hardship status of LB Jashon Sykes and WR John Minardi. Sykes missed a total of eight games when he herniated a disk in his neck and Minardi missed the majority of the season with a knee injury.
The NCAA will decide if both players will receive an extra year of eligibility.
