"Coming out of East Central, I could have gone to any college in the Big 12 if I got a passing test score," said Barnett. "The only places I probably could not have went are Oklahoma and Texas. Everywhere else was recruiting me hard. I was just going to head to NEO but Colorado came to my school in May and watched me do some stuff out on the field and offered me. I then went ahead and signed with them. I'll be going there after the spring semester."

Barnett rooms with fellow Buff recruit, Chris Todd, at NEO and the two have known each other and been good friends for a long time.

He, like Todd, was recruited by and still remains in close contact with CU coach Chris Wilson. "Coach Wilson just tells me that he wants me to get good grades and come in there ready to learn the system. If I do that, there should be a good chance of getting some playing time."

Barnett gives Buff fans an idea of the kind of receiver coming to Boulder. "I will do anything for the team. I am a total team player. I'll block, catch, whatever I need to do. I will always work harder than the next person."

The wideout will have four years to play three. On the season, he has three catches for 95 yards. "I am rotating in on every other play."

NEO A&M is 3-1 on the season and takes on Cisco College in Cisco, Texas, this Saturday.
