"I have been talking a lot with Coach Bray and Coach Simms," said Washington. "Coach Bray has been telling me that I am the type of player they need. He tells me they need some speed at corner and that they are looking forward to me getting there."

Speed is something he definitely possesses as he had a personal best of 10.6 in the 100 meter at Cleveland NJROTC.

The future Buff describes himself as a physical corner. "This is really my first year of playing strictly corner. I was a running back in high school and I played safety and corner last year. I am a physical, contact corner. We play bump-and-run here so there is a lot of action."

On the year, Washington has 30 tackles, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles for 4-2 Garden City.

"I am getting my AA degree and I'll be at Colorado next summer."

Washington plans on taking an official visit to Boulder this fall.

Are other schools still contacting him?

"My coaches don't tell other schools about me since I am going to Colorado."
