"The trip went good," said Crowell. "The only problem was that when they did a physical on me they found a problem with my left shoulder. They think I might have a slight tear. They want me to get an MRI and send them the results. It is in my non-throwing shoulder. It doesn't hurt when I am playing but it bothers me a little when I am lifting. We only have one machine on the island so I have to wait my turn to use it. Hopefully I can get the test done in the next couple of weeks."
The Hawaii quarterback said that the possibility of him committing to Colorado has now been put on hold. "They told me that the result of the test will determine if they can continue to recruit me. I probably would have committed if it weren't for that. If the test comes back okay I will probably go ahead and commit."
Crowell takes us through his visit.
"I guess they have a new policy there that a coach has to be with you at all times. So when I got there it was like at 9:30 on Friday night and Coach Cabral picked me up. He was with me pretty much everywhere I went. Jordan (Dizon) was kind of my host but it was mainly Coach Cabral. After he picked me up, we went straight to the hotel and I went to sleep.
"I woke up and had breakfast with the team and then went into the pre-game meetings. We went over to the field on the bus and then I took a tour of the stadium. After watching the game, I went into the locker room and got to talk to some of the players. Then I met with the strength coach and he took me back to the hotel. That night I went to Dave and Buster's for dinner with the coaches then went back to the hotel again. The next morning I took a tour of the campus and met with Coach Barnett and Watson. After that I left.
"The visit was more than I expected it to be."
Crowell had said in the past that the weather would be a big factor in his decision. "The weather was kind of strange the first day because there was fog in the morning and it was in the 40's. After that it cleared up and was nice."
In Kauai's last game, he passed for 252 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. They are now 3-1.
We'll catch up with Crowell soon to get the results from his MRI test.
