This year, Kessler recorded 31 catches for 465 yards and five touchdowns. He also played one game at strong safety and totalled 15 tackles and one sack. All schools are recruiting him on offense.
He has written offers from Oklahoma State, Colorado, Baylor, Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Utah, Tulsa, Louisiana-Monroe, North Carolina, Houston, Wisconsin, and a few others. "That is all I can think of right now," said Kessler. "Texas Christian also told me I have an offer over the phone."
He has already visited Houston, Missouri, Baylor, and Utah. Colorado will get his final visit. "I was supposed to go to Colorado this weekend, but since they are in the Big 12 game I have to try to make it next weekend. I still need to schedule it with my recruiting coach. (He believes his recruiting coach is Shawn Watson, but is not positive)
"I went to Boulder this summer and liked it. I liked the staff and felt that I fit in well. I was at the game when they played Missouri and I have seen them a few other times on TV this year."
The Buffs are fighting an uphill battle for Kessler as one school has a strong lead. "Utah is pretty much it for me right now. I am waiting to see if anything happens with Urban Meyer before I decide. If he does go somewhere else, I am hoping that I can go with him."
His parents have a different favorite. "They like Baylor because it is close, has a lot of prestige, and offers a great education."
Kessler is a December graduate and will be available for the spring. Therefore, he has to decide on what school to go to soon.
All involved are recruiting him equally. "My phone rings all the time," he says laughing.
The tight end breaks down his skills. "I block well and I stay on my blocks. I can play the position split-out or attached to the line."
Kessler carries a 2.8 core GPA. He scored a 900 on his SAT and a 21 on his ACT. He is undecided on a major, but is interested in Engineering.
