"It went very well," said Yates of the in-home. "He was talking to me, my mom, and my grandparents. We were just talking about the educational value they can offer me and then we talked about what they are doing with their wide receiver recruitment. He told me they are taking one receiver this class, maybe two. After talking about everything, we just kind of sat around and got to know each other better."
Coach Barnett will be in his home for a follow-up visit next Tuesday.
Iowa State and Kansas met with Yates at his school on Wednesday. "Iowa State is a new school showing me interest. It is still pretty much Colorado and Kansas, and CU has the lead. Those two are recruiting me the hardest. I am visitng CU next weekend and KU the weekend after. After those trips, I will probably make my decision pretty soon."
Yates finished the year with over 900 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. Showing he is at his best in big games, in a state playoff loss to Columbine he had six catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
He will be re-taking his ACT this Saturday. Yates has taken some courses to better prepare him this time around. "This time I should pass it, no sweat."
