"Isaiah is no longer on our team," head coach Gary Barnett confirmed Monday.
Crawford was part of the 2003 recruiting class. He came in tagged as an "athlete," but found a home at running back last year.
The 5-9, 190-pounder was impressive in the spring and was praised for his "north-south" style of running. He looked to have a shot at playing time when August camp came around.
Crawford rushed six times for 35 yards in the win over North Texas, but seemed to fall out of favor with the coaches and didn't see time at running back after that. In all, he appeared in eight games, but mostly on special teams.
It is believed Crawford plans to transfer to another school to be determined.
