"Coach Borbely told me that he has never had a situation when he did not have an extra offer," said Moriarty. "I am 95 percent sure that they will offer me. They seemed to be showing me a lot of attention while I was there. I would say they lead for me now. They also said that they will start me out at quarterback which is big for me.
"I just had a great trip, overall. The facilities were pretty nice and I got to sit down with Coach Barnett and Watson. Everything went well - it was pretty fun."
If Moriarty is to be offered, it will probably happen by Christmas. "They told me they will get back with me around then because they need to see about offensive lineman, first. They say they want to have 10 lineman in the fold for this class and they have seven now (eight with Devin Head committing Tuesday). If I do not get the offer they told me they would consider grayshirting me which is something I am okay with. It would just give me an extra six months to work out and throw the ball around."
The Dos Pueblos star is supposed to visit UNLV this weekend, but he is not sure if that will happen. "The coach that was there recruiting me was fired so I recently just sent them film to see if they still like me. If they do, I will probably go ahead and take the visit."
Washington is also now an option with Tyrone Willingham taking over. "Notre Dame was about to offer me before he left so my father got in touch with someone he played with while at Notre Dame (Greg Bell) and that person got in touch with Coach Willingham. I am hoping to speak with him soon. I know the new quarterbacks coach at UW likes taller quarterbacks so they would probably like me at safety."
Moriarty could be a quarterback, safety, or cornerback.
Notre Dame could still make a play for him. "I want to see what happens with coach Baer. If he leaves there he could like me at the new place he is going. If he stays there they might keep recruiting me."
Coach Barnett has told Moriarty he will be at his home for a visit in January.
