"I always have a good time when I go to Colorado and visit family," said Menelik Holt. "My uncle lives in Colorado Springs and I have an aunt in Aurora. I was born in Denver. I like the tight-knit community around the University. I enjoy the snow and I wouldn't mind playing there at all."

He has received many handwritten letters from Linebackers Coach Brian Cabral. "He usually sends stuff around the Holidays telling me he hopes I have a great time and wishes my family well."

Despite his interest in Colorado, Holt admits it could be tough to pry him from his home-state. "I wouldn't mind staying in California if I can."

His top schools are Michigan, Oregon, Arizona State, CU, UCLA, San Diego State, and Cal. "Michigan is my favorite. I have always liked them."

He receives the most mail from CU, ASU, and Washington. Holt also receives many items from Notre Dame and Cal.

Holt describes himself as a hard worker. "I get to school at 5:30 in the morning and work out until 7:30 almost everyday. I want to be the best no matter what I do and I feel the work I put in off the field separates me from others on the field. It is my goal to catch everything."

St. Augustine will be led this year by the little brother of Jason Forcier, junior-to-be Chris Forcier.

Holt carries a 3.0 core GPA and scored a 1440 on his Pre-Sat. He would like to major in Business. "My grandmother owns some businesses in Ethopia and down the line I would like to go there, learn the language, and run them for her."

He plans on taking the SAT and ACT this summer.
