Broomfield Junior Favors the Buffs

<b>Jeff Hickey</b> is a player to watch within the state borders next fall. He could play a number of positions on the college level like linebacker, defensive end, or fullback. He was an honorable mention all-conference selection as a junior on the offensive line. On defense, he recorded seven fumble recoveries, six sacks, and four caused fumbles. Colorado is Hickey's early favorite.

"Colorado is a good college," said Jeff Hickey. "They have great tradition and they just won the Big 12 North. They have good academics and a great atmosphere. I really like the coaches that I've met. I have been up to some of the practices and I like the way they run things."

Hickey ran a 4.87 laser 40 time at the Army combine. Last summer, he ran a 4.53 at the CU camp.

The main schools he has been hearing from so far include Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, and Stanford. "My top five are Colorado, Texas, Stanford, Columbia, and Arizona State. I'd say Colorado is my leader."

Hickey describes himsel as having many strengths. "I am a hard worker and I love hitting. I have good speed and I am a quick learner. I work very hard in the weight room."

He carries a 3.97 core GPA and scored a 28 on his ACT. Hickey is unsure of what he would like to major in.
