Star Arizona D-end Now Listing the Buffs

Jermaine Williams is arguably the top player in Arizona for next fall and many are comparing him to former Arizona State standout, Terrell Suggs. Williams notified last night to add Colorado to his list of favorites.

Height: 6-4
Weight: 255
40 time: 4.63
Bench: 325
Squat: 450
Clean: 285
From: Phoenix, Arizona
High School: Maryvale

The Maryvale standout received his second official offer yesterday. He now has written offers from both Arizona schools. "I got a letter from Coach (Mike) Tui (Arizona D-line coach) and it just said that they were offering me and they want me there," said Jermaine Williams. "I was real excited to get the offer and so was my family."

Arizona is Williams' current favorite, but he says he will not be rushing into anything. "I will probably decide around this time next year. I want to wait it out and see my other options."

One of those options is Colorado. "You can add them to my list. They have been sending me a lot of stuff recently. My friend, Maryvale corner Robert Allen, really wants to go there and he is always talking about them."

As a junior, he rushed for 1,300 yards and 16 touchdowns at fullback. He was a first team all-league selection on defense at d-end and second team at running back. He averages 14 points a game as a power forward.

He could be a future standout on either side of the ball. "I am a hard runner with great strength and athletic ability. Last year I worked real hard on my conditioning because I wasn't in the best shape I could be. After I am done with basketball season I will be doing nothing but running. I think my future is at defensive end."

He does have some grade issues that will need to be worked out as he carries a 2.2 core GPA. He'll be taking his ACT very soon and is unsure of what he would like to major in.
