Lakewood Lineman Invited to Junior Day

Bill Boyer is a player that CU is taking a hard look at in-state. He was a first team all-conference and second team all-state selection on the offensive line as a junior. He has been receiving handwritten letters from defensive coordinator Mike Hankwitz.

Height: 6-5
Weight: 275
From: Lakewood, Colorado
High School: Green Mountain

"I have been getting some stuff from Coach Hankwitz and he says they want me to come to their junior day, April 2nd," explained Boyer. "I have always been a fan of Colorado's and I have always liked the program."

In-state rival Colorado State holds the early edge for his services. "I just have more experience with their program. I have been to their camp and I have spoken with Coach (Sonny) Lubick quite a bit."

The only other school Boyer lists at this point is Oklahoma.

As a junior, he recorded 25 pancake blocks on offense and had one interception on defense. "I always know the schemes well and I know the game well. I am great off the ball."

Green Mountain head coach Don McGatlin says of Boyer, "He is a very talented two-way player. He has great, quick feet."

The lineman says he will definitely attend CSU's camp and would like to also attend CU and OU's camps, but is waiting on the info.

He carries a 2.5 core GPA and is scheduled to take the SAT March 12th. Boyer would like to major in Engineering or Culinary Arts. He may also like to get into Massage Therapy.
