VJ Earns Honorable Mention all-Big 12

Colorado senior Veronica Johns-Richardson was named all-Big 12 Honorable Mention by the league's coaches, the conference announced Friday.

Johns-Richardson was the only Colorado player to be named to the all-conference squad. After playing two-guard, small forward and point guard her first three seasons, VJ saw most of her minutes at point guard this season. She averaged 10.1 points and 3 assists per game.

Baylor won the Big 12 Conference regular season title and Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson was chosen Coach of the Year. Kendra Wecker (Kansas State) was named Player of the Year, Jelena Spiric (Nebraska) was the pick for Big 12 Newcomer of the Year while Morenike Atunrase (Texas A&M) captured Freshman of the Year honors. The team was voted on by the league's head coaches with coaches not allowed to vote for their own players.
