In-State Center Favors the Buffs

John Anest was a first team all-conference and second team all-state selection as a junior. He received more votes in his conference than any other lineman. Anest will be attending CU's Junior Day and says the Buffs have a slight edge for his services at this point.

"Colorado is real close and I have been a fan of them for a long time," said John Anest. "I'd say Colorado and Notre Dame are my leaders and CU has a slight edge. I love the weather here and I love the mountains. I also like Cal, Iowa State and Stanford."

Both of his parents went to Wyoming, but they do not have a preference on where John heads to school.

Anest plans on attending CSU's Junior Day, April 10th, in addition to the one in Boulder.

He breaks down his skills on the field. "I have very good blocking fundamentals and I play from the snap to the whistle. I am quick off the ball. When I started playing football I was a quarterback and I used to be a center fielder in baseball so I am pretty athletic. I have a great mentality for the game."

Anest will attend full camps at CU and Iowa State this summer.

He carries a 3.43 core GPA and recently took the SAT. He would like a future in something Construction oriented.
