Quarles Still Favors CU

Not many would argue that Aubrey Quarles isn't the top athlete in the Centennial State for next fall. Quarles is receiving attention from across the nation, but he is still favoring the notion of staying home and donning the black and gold.

Height: 6-0

Bench: 245
Squat: 430

When asked who was on his current schools list, Aubrey Quarles responded, "I am still looking at CU. They are still my top choice."

The first team all-state selection of a year ago could not attend the Buffs' Junior Day over the weekend because he did not have transportation. "I know what their junior day is all about, though. I went for it last year so I have seen what goes on."

Many new schools are coming onto the radar for Quarles. "I am getting a lot of letters from different places, but CU is still the only school that has spoken about offering. They just say that they want me to do real well on my ACT, and I am taking that on the 23rd of this month.

"Other schools I like right now are UCLA, Cal, Texas, and Kansas. I am looking the hardest at CU, but I am also looking at the possibilities out-of-state."

Quarles' half brother, Clyde Surrell, played for the Buffs and his best friend is red-shirt freshman strong safety, Ryan Walters.

He is unsure of any summer camp plans at this time.
