"I went up there Saturday (to Boulder) and it was real nice," said Kelsey Sokoloski. "We got to hear the players talk and hear their experiences at CU. We heard from Joel Klatt and Corey Reid, and some others. I got to talk to the coaches and get a better idea about who they are."

The Creek signal caller also took an unofficial visit to the University of Arizona last week because he was in the Phoenix area for a baseball tournament. "I watched the practices and walked around the campus to tour the facilities. Everything there was real nice and so were the people. The facilities were what really stood out."

Other schools on his list include UCLA, San Diego State and Idaho. "I don't have a leader right now. I'd say that everyone is pretty equal.

"UCLA I know well because of their former Colorado coaches. I have spoken with coach (UCLA tight ends coach Jon) Embree and have known him since I was little. They have a reputation of having good academics at UCLA."

As a junior, Sokoloski was 153-298 for 2,055 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also rushed for four touchdowns. Sokoloski was named second team all-league and honorable mention all-state. "I am good at making decisions before the snap happens. I know how to read defenses."

This summer, he plans on attending camps at CU and will also go to the Elite 11 try-outs in Las Vegas.

Sokoloski carries a 3.0 core GPA and scored a 1090 on the SAT. He would like to major in Business or Economics.
