Compton (Dominguez) Athlete Richard Sherman

With the appointment of Darian Hagan to the L.A. area, you can expect CU to hit schools like Compton Dominguez as hard as they did when Hagan was a player in Boulder. Richard Sherman has the grades and the skills to be a highly recruited athlete on both sides of the ball. He has Colorado on his leader board.

"Some of the schools I like right now are Oregon, Stanford, USC, Mississippi State, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, and Colorado State," said Richard Sherman.

He is awaiting his first offer.

He thinks highly of the CU program. "I have been getting a whole lot of mail from them and they are big-time football. It is kind of cold but it would be worth it to play for a big-time football team."

As a junior, Sherman caught 23 passes for 415 yards and six touchdowns. On defense, he had four interceptions and one fumble recovery. Sherman was named first team all-league at receiver. "I am quick and I get to the ball when it is in the air. I have great jumping ability and football really comes easy for me. On defense, I can read the receivers well and jump on their routes."

Schools like him on both sides of the ball. "Some say that I can play on either side for them. Some say they like me for offense and others like me for defense. I prefer to play receiver."

Sherman attended the USC Junior Day over the weekend and will also attend the 'SC elite camp and Cal three-day camp.

He carries a 3.8 core GPA and scored a 990 on the SAT. Sherman would like to major in Business or Accounting.
